Power, Greed and the Destruction of the Earth’s Ability for Sustaining Life

Dramatic title, right? I don’t necessarily think so.
Romans 8: 22 “We know that all creation is groaning in labor pains even until now…”
We have been (unconsciously?) blind to the harm being done to the earth in the name of progress. While progress is good, even great, if done with care consideration of the positive and negative impact on human life and sustaining a healthy global environment.
Unfortunately, greed and power have become powerful motivators for so many. They use their influence and money to lure people into believing what they do is for the benefit of our lives. In fact, the truth is that they just want to line up their pockets and gain the admiration of, not just our citizens, but those in other countries.
Fortunately, there are countries that have been consistent in protecting the earth. The citizens of these countries proactively take part in maintaining their environment safe from pollution and containments that are harmful to human life.
It seems to me that too many people are only concerned about the present moment. They do not think, - reflect and ponder – if the earth will be healthy enough for farmers to grow their vegetables, fruits, coffee beans, etc. Or for animals to feed off the grass, drink safe water, etc.
Too many live in a state of mind that encompasses their needs and wants. They rely on their immediate needs and convenience.
